Due to our rapid growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Storesperson/Kitchen Porter to join our campus team on our Hinkley Point C contract, based primarily at Hinkley Campus, which provides accommodation for many of the teams working on the construction of the project. Our campus hospitality operation is comprised of bar, kitchen and restaurant staff. Our Chef Managers and Front of House Managers ensure each aspect of our hospitality and catering service is consistently delivered to a high standard.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chef Manager, this is a varied, dual role where you will support in the kitchen and in the stores. You’ll place goods orders with suppliers to ensure our stores are kept fully stocked up and check all food deliveries. Taking pride in your work and a high expectation of food quality standards will be essential for the role, so that any food goods you receive from suppliers and correctly checked and meet our quality and hygiene requirements.
You’ll have good communication skills so that you can work with external delivery drivers, guiding them to where they need to be, and with our other sites, should any goods need to move across locations.
As well as this, you’ll also support the team in a Kitchen Porter capacity, cleaning all crockery, equipment and cutlery to an exceptional standard, and assisting the Chef Manager with inducting new staff.
This is a really exciting opportunity, and we will give you the opportunity for career development with us. You will find yourself working any five days out of seven. This will mainly be Monday to Friday, 7am – 3.30pm, however there might be the occasional weekend day in your capacity as a Kitchen Porter, so a degree of flexibility is required.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Food Safety Level 2 (or able to achieve on appointment)
- A good understanding of health and safety issues
- A positive can-do approach
- An adaptable nature, flexible to changes and new practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Food storage and delivery procedure knowledge, including stock rotation

Good to know:
