Due to our rapid growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Night Manager to join our Night Shift team on our Hinkley Point C contract, based primarily at the HPC site.  To learn more about our partnership with Hinkley Point C, please click here.

Hinkley Point C is a large-scale, 24/7 construction project, with thousands of employees clocking in and out every day and night.   It’s also high security, meaning you’ll get an extra hour of pay each day when you take the private HPC bus to and from the site.  Our nightshift team work hard and take pride in what they do, creating thousands of meals each night using fresh produce prepared and delivered daily from our Central Production Kitchen in North Petherton.  From our Kitchen Assistants to our Chef Managers – everyone receives professional training and support to ensure our standards of hygiene, quality and presentation are always high, especially when working in such a fast-paced environment.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Working alongside the Night Chef Manager, you’ll support the front of house operational management of your designated HPC unit or units, which will involve leading the night staff in their nightly activities.

Acting as a role model and embodying Hinkley Point C’s zero harm culture and our own culture of pride, you’ll ensure that all staff are providing an excellent standard of customer service, whilst also supporting the implementation of our strategic initiatives.  These initiatives are designed for developing operational effectiveness and are key for driving the successful of our nightly catering operation. 

We have four main units across Hinkley Point C: North, South, East and West.  Part of your role will include the management of stock control and performance for all night units, as well as Health & Safety management.  An element of this will be the training and development of staff, to ensure consistently high standards of Health & Safety, customer service and operational performance.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • A working knowledge of leading operational compliance for Health & Safety regulations related to industrial catering business operations
  • An understanding of the administration and financial responsibilities associated with catering management (including stock and related cost control)
  • Catering management skills gained in a similar environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification (or willing to attain upon appointment)

Successful applicants will be required to provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history in order to work on Hinkley Point C and must be able to evidence their right to work in the UK so that security clearance can be obtained as these roles are based on a nuclear regulated site.
