Somerset Larder is an award-winning company, using locally sourced food to supply catering services and food-to-go options across the southwest. This is an exciting time to join our business, as we are constantly growing and expanding our reach.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a General Catering Assistant to join our team, based at one of our client sites in Wellington, Somerset. This is a lovely role where our catering services are provided to the employees of a small manufacturing facility, located near all the amenities of Wellington town centre. The hours you will be expected to work will range from early morning to early afternoon, so this role could suit a caregiver looking for work during school hours or someone looking for part-time day work.
Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will assist with basic food preparation in our kitchen facility onsite, maintaining extremely high standards of food safety and hygiene. You will take pride in your work, so that each product or snack sold is good quality, taking into considering any allergen constraints too.
This is an energetic and fun working environment, and you’ll be able to enjoy building a rapport with your customers whilst serving and managing the till system. Outside of this, you will also support the Unit Manager in keeping accurate production and quality records, storing raw materials correctly and safely, and cleaning all crockery and cutlery as required.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Good customer services skills
- Punctuality and reliability
- A kind and respectful team working approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of basic food preparation would be good, but is not essential
