Job Title: Chef
Location: Royal Lymington Yacht Club
We are an award winning regional catering company, supplying several large businesses in the south west and beyond, including the Hinkley Point C building project.
From our central kitchens in Somerset we cook everything from snacks, meals to go, cafe and restaurant meals – to corporate fine dining and personal chef services.
RLYC is a new addition to the South West Larder family and the operation is comprised of bar, kitchen and restaurant staff. Our Chef Manager and Front of House Manager ensure each aspect of our hospitality and catering service is consistently delivered to a high standard, with the support of the Chef.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chef Manager, you will take pride in ensuring the food we make to order is produced to a high standard of quality. This is varied and creative role, so you will also assist the Chef Manager in planning our menus and food provision, taking into account any allergen constraints or equipment availability.
You will work with us in our goal to be a more environmentally sustainable business, ensuring any write offs are within our agreed limits, and you’ll have the opportunity to be involved in the development of any new products or packaging that help us to minimise waste.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- City & Guilds 706/1 & 2, NVQ Level 2 or Commis Chef Level 2
- Demonstrable chef experience, working with a variety of menus
- A conscientious attitude towards your work
- Knowledge of food safety management/HAACP systems operation
- The ability to work well against time pressures or in demanding situations
- A helpful and supportive approach to teamwork
